Wuv is What Bwings Us Togeva

Kuulei made it down to Grenada while I had a few days off from school.  It was great to see her again as I have missed her dearly.  We did not do too many things that were all that exotic but we did have a ton of fun and that is what counts.  We went to the beach, went on a walk along the oceanside, went out to eat, shopped, went to church, watched movies and animal planet, and got our engagement photos done courtesy of my friends Sara Weir of Sara Weir Photography and Casey McDaniel of Casey McDaniel Photography.  I am so far very impressed by their work on our photos and I am excited to see the rest of the photos taken.  If you are engaged and thinking about getting pictures taken I suggest these ladies to do the job well for you!  Kuulei and I are excited and cannot wait to see each other again.

The B's Have It!

I finished my midterm exams and as the results came in I was swarmed with not bees but B's!  I know I am lame and use goofy puns a lot. For example, Summer Summery?  Come on Nick.  Anyway, I got a B on each of my exams for Physiology, Immunology, and Neuroscience.  I was a little intimidated by the Neurology exam because it was so difficult and they tested us a lot on details.  I stuck to my guns and answered the questions the way I thought they should be answered and I did well.  I have been trying to score A's and B's in medical school and for the most part I am doing that so I am very happy.  I just want to be a competent and caring doctor when my time comes.  I am sure with effort I will reach my goals.  This whole experience of not just doing well in medical school but actually trying to get in has taught me that with grit and hard work just about anything can be accomplished.  I will continue trying to improve my grades as I learn more and more about how our amazing bodies work.

Ants!

Yesterday I discovered I had a few visitors to my apartment. They were tiny little orange-brown looking critters. I guess they smelled the cookie crumbs on my counter and wanted to come check out what was going on. I wouldn't mind so much because I normally really like ants, but there started to be more and more of them and they started to wear out their welcome. They were starting to come through the wall in swarms and crawling into my cupboards where my sugar was! I decided something had to be done so today I bought some poison. I felt bad for killing off my little friends but it had to be done. The whole ordeal reminded me of a song my brothers and I made up when we were shorter than 6 feet tall. "We are aaaaaaants....we live in your refridgeratooooorrrrrr...anything you can eat we can eat too!" I will try to keep my counter a little more clean.
